Engines fail on Southampton water!

Not our engine, the engines on a container ship, Basle Express.

Length 366 meters, 48 meters wide and draft of 13 meters heading to Hamburg.

Saw it slow down just before Fawley oil refinery so dropped anchor very quickly.

Within minutes all the tugs came out to help!

The ship did manage to re-start the engines and carried on with its voyage with the help of some tugs.

France invades UK

After centuries the French did manage to invade England, well we let them have a mock exercise landing in Gosport yesterday.

We sailed past as they were about to leave, loading the landing craft back onto the mother ship.

This was a social sailing weekend on our calendar. Lots of great bars, restaurants and shops perfect after a good days sailing and lunch in Cowes!

First Day Skippers in 2013

Michalis, John, Mark & Mat.

Very strong group who had all completed our online theory before. We started the first 3 days in stormy weather and completed last weekend in thick fog. But had very little rain, amazingly mild, didn't even use the central heating onboard.
